Richard Sale Barn presents an evening of comedy | VermilionToday.com – Abbeville Meridional, Gueydan Journal, Kaplan Herald, Vermilion Parish, La.

The Richard Sale Barn is not scheduled to be filled with the sounds of music this Saturday night; rather, with the sounds of laughter as three area comedians take the stage.

Murray Conque, Kent Gonsoulin and Jonathan Perry have been associated with comedy for years, in particular the Cajun Comic Relief benefit held annually in Lafayette. This Saturday night, they will bring their best work to the Richard Sale Barn in Perry to let the chips fall where they may ….. pun intended.

MURRAY CONQUE Hails from Carencro, LA. For 28 years he has entertained audiences all across the country from Las Vegas, NV to Quebec, Canada. He’s appeared on national television on the “Regis and Kathie Lee Show” and has been chosen as the opening act for such names as Trace Adkins, Aaron Neville, The Temptations, Mickey Gilley and Ray Price. In 2006, Murray was invited to perform at the prestigious ‘Hubcap Comedy Festival” in Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada. Hold on to your funny bone! This past winner of the International Cajun Joke Telling Contest will have you rolling in the aisles!

KENT GONSOULIN was born in New Iberia and grew up in Opelousas, LA, and now lives in Baton Rouge, LA. In 1993 he was crowned King of the Cajun Joke Tellers at the International Cajun Joke Telling Contest. Since then he has performed throughout the south at banquets and conventions. His unique style of mixing Cajun stories and a variety of voices is becoming more and more popular wherever he performs. He’s been seen on “E” Entertianment Network and Louisiana Public Broadcasting.

JONATHAN PERRY was born and raised in Kaplan, Louisiana and is the proud father of twin daughters and a son. He is an attorney, State Representative and a former police officer in his hometown. His tales of these life-changing experiences will literally have your side hurting. Being an attorney, politician and former police officer gives him all the material he needs to draw from to deliver a knee-slapping laugh out loud performance. He’s also a past winner of the International Cajun Joke Telling Contest!
